Rigorous in design.
Modest in claim.
BrainyFred is a science-grounded preventive wellbeing product. Its methodology is built from established frameworks in child development and emotional learning, and reviewed by our Chief Psychologist. The public language stays careful on purpose: we say "designed with", "grounded in", and "informed by", never "treats" or "cures".
The TEB model: Thoughts, Emotions, Body.
Children experience a big feeling in three connected places at once: what they think, what they feel, and what they notice in their body. BrainyFred helps them notice all three and see how they influence each other.
This is the heart of the experience. Characters like Lila (the body's compass) and Dr. Greg (body and mind together) make the TEB model tangible and playful, never clinical.
Eight foundations, one playful experience.
Each session is shaped by a deliberate blend of established, evidence-aware approaches to how children learn and grow.
Social-Emotional Learning
Self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships, responsible choices.
CBT-informed practice
The link between thoughts, feelings, and actions, made child-friendly through story.
Mindfulness
Present-moment noticing, breath, and calm, woven into missions like Captain Seashell's dives.
Narrative play
Children make sense of feelings by turning them into stories they can hold and share.
Positive psychology
Strengths, gratitude, and growth, focusing on building capacity, not fixing deficits.
Self-regulated learning
Children pace themselves, reflect, and see their own progress in the Journal.
Directions of child development
Every character maps to a different direction of development, so every child finds their door in.
TEB model
The connective tissue: thoughts, emotions, and body, noticed and understood together.
"Designed with psychologists. Grounded in established frameworks. Honest about what it is and is not. That discipline is what makes it trustworthy for this age."
A validated cohort of 257 children
Our methodology has been developed and refined with a cohort of 257 children. We treat this as a real and meaningful proof point of engagement and design, and we describe it carefully: it is not a clinical outcome, and BrainyFred is not a clinical intervention.
